Malwarebytes Anti-Malware finally arrives for the Mac

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware software has finally been launched for the Mac. The free adware and malware removal tool has been a go-to application for any Windows PC users looking to excise their computer of nasty viruses since 2008, now for the first time, Mac users can enjoy the benefits also.

Described as an industry-leading scanner that can detect and remove Trojans, rootkits, rogues, spyware and other dangerous malware, I’ve used Malwarebytes on PCs for years and it’s cleaned up many nasty software infections. As a Mac user, I’ve eagerly awaited the release of a version of Malwarebytes for OS X, this is certainly a very welcome development in my opinion.

Macs do get viruses, despite the myth that Macs are incapable of being infected. While malware is less likely to occur on the Mac when compared to Windows PCs, they do nevertheless exist and it’s important for users to be vigilant with what they download and from what sources.
