Instagram is changing its timeline order

Well it was only a matter of time before Instagram now owned of course by Facebook started to introduce the non-chronological timeline. Up to now users would see their timeline in the order that the people they follow posted, just like it is meant to be, however now Instgram will show you images based on your likes and what’s most popular from your contacts.

Instagram said in a statement:

The order of photos and videos in your feed will be based on the likelihood you’ll be interested in the content, your relationship with the person posting and the timeliness of the post. As we begin, we’re focusing on optimizing the order — all the posts will still be there, just in a different order.

So while you won’t miss any post technically you just wont see them in order, I also worry about how many times I will now see the same post from someone, something that happens quite a bit on Facebook.

Are you happy with this change which will roll out to everyone in the next few months, let us know in the comments below.
