CEX charging €190 for the NES Classic
Supply and demand or extortion ?
I was in a local shopping center last night while heading to see Rouge One: A Star Wars Story (very good btw) and I passed the CEX shop which is a gaming and electronics store. Think of CEX almost like a ‘cash for gold’ but for electronics and noticed that they are selling the must have item this Christmas, the NES Classic Mini for a whopping €190, this is a 271% increase in price from its RRP of €69.99.

Now in fairness CEX is a good store but some of their mark up on second hand items could be seen as extortion, but just remember no one is forcing you to buy it. Most stores will be getting in new stock in January so if you can wait then do but keep in mind that you have about as much chance in January sales of getting one as you do now unfortunately.
CEX are also buying the console for €117 so if you have one and want to make a tidy profit then head down to your local CEX. Would you pay €190 for this knowing that you will be able to get it for €69.99 in another month ? Is little Timmy’s beaming face worth the extra cash, perhaps…..
